Weld Recovers awarded the Lauren Project a grant for $5000 to cover the cost to purchase and install C.O. alarms for homes that were damaged by the floods in Northern Colorado in 2013. In a joint effort with the American Red Cross, this project was completed in October of 2015.
The Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County awarded The Lauren Project a Collaboration Grant for $2000 to purchase C.O. detectors for Project Connect on September 28th, 2012. Project Connect is a community services event reaching out to the economically disadvantaged in Weld County. We will be working with the Greeley Fire Department on this project. The Weld County Chapter of Thrivent Financial awarded The Lauren Project a grant for $1000 to purchase C.O. detectors for Project Connect. Thrivent Financial has supported numerous projects sponsored by The Lauren Project and to date has provided the largest amount of corporate support for our efforts. Loveland Fire Department has just announced that they received a FEMA grant for $40,000 to purchase carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors. The grant application was based on a collaborative effort with The Lauren Project modeled after our canvassing efforts with the Windsor/Severance Fire Department. We will work with them to design a similar effort in Loveland.
