Project: Center for Development in Central America

Country: Nicaragua

Jess was the first CSU masters student in social work to be approved for an international internship. She is spending 8 weeks in Ciudad, Sandino, one of the poorest communities in Nicaragua where most residents live on less than $1 per day. She is working in a health clinic and with community development projects in fulfilling the requirements for her internship. The sponsoring organization is the Center for Development in Central America. On weekends, she goes to the Arms of Love Children’s Home, an organization she has volunteered with 4 different times.
