Join Us at the 9 Health Fair

The Lauren Poject well be at the health fair on Saturday April 9th. We will be there to educate the community about Carbon Monoxide. We will also be continuing our Carbon Monoxide Detecctor drive. Members of the community without a working detector will be able to register for a free one that will be installed by the Windsor Fire Department.

Carbon Monoxide Detector Drive

More than 70 local Windor High School Students, along with other volunteers went door to door in Windsor on Saturday March 26th to check and see which homes were in need of a carbon monoxide detector. If the homeowner indicated that they were in need of a detector a time was setup for the Windor Fire Department to come and install a detector. Thanks to the work of all of the volunteers in making this event a huge success. To learn more about the carbon monoxide drive see the 9 News Coverage.

Board members and friends of the Lauren Project participated in carbon monoxide distributions at 2 food banks and at 3 universities in 2010.

Approximately 775 carbon monoxide detectors were given away. Most of the CO detectors came as in kind donations from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Additional projects are being planned for 2011. Thanks to Thrivent for so generously funding these events.

Carbon Monoxide Detector Drive

Volunteers for the Lauren Project are currently conducting a door-to-door campaign to asses the Carbon Monoxide Detector needs of the Windsor Community. If a household does not have a detector they will be able to work with the Windor Fire Department to get one installed. This will allow us to better understand the needs of our community by providing us with the first data on who does and does not have working carbon monoxide detectors.
